Abbey does absolutely wonderful with all people, kids or adults, and every dog, small or large, however, when it comes to cats, she has an obsession! When she was about 10 months old, we introduced a three-legged Persian cat into our house, and it's been dog-cat war ever since! It's not so much a war, but they do the age old, dog chases cat, cat hisses at dog, dog barks continuously at cat scene. I thought maybe it would just be a getting used to each other thing, but it persists, EVERY day. It's quite hilarious, because anytime Abbey is let out of her kennel, she doesn't dart to the door to go to the backyard, or to her food and water bowls, but right to the cat's play tower. If Peggy (the cat) can't be found there, Abbey uses her inner hound to sniff her out throughout the whole house. If Abbey is seen anywhere, it's because Peggy was just there recently and had left her scent. Luckily, it hasn't moved from funny to annoying because we can easily distract Abbey with toys, opening the door to the backyard, or grabbing her leash for a walk. It's especially hysterical when Abbey comes running up the stairs after being let out of the kennel, and Peggy unknowingly is sitting out in the open on or near the stairs. When they come within inches of each other, you can feel the tension between the two right before the chase starts!
